Massive Multihull Display at Sydney Boat Show

Multihull Central are excited to announce the biggest ever showcase of multihulls at this year’s Sydney International Boat Show, 2nd – 6th August, 2018. The display will feature five different multihulls including the Australian launch of the Corsair 970 trimaran, new Seawind 1190 Sport and Seawind 1160 LITE, plus two Aquila Powercats including the new Aquila 36 and 44 power catamarans.

Corsair 970
The 32ft Corsair 970 has it all by combining the creature comforts for required for cruising with the speed and stability for thrilling sailing or racing, plus the versatility of easily towing the boat on a trailer. The boat’s sleek lines and buoyant floats make it as safe as it is attractive, while its interior features two double beds, galley and saloon plus a separate toilet and shower. Fold away the floats and lower the rig for trailering and you no longer have to wait for the weather to come home again.

Seawind 1190 Sport
The latest Seawind Catamaran, the Seawind 1190 Sport, is the ultimate combination of high performance sailing and cruising comfort. Taking the much loved Seawind 1160 design and interior layout, the design was optimized by Francois Perus in collaboration with Alan Carwardine, two of the industry’s leading multihull designers. By using carbon where possible in the build and synthetic rigging her weight has been reduced by 600kg compared to the Seawind 1160 Lite. This combined with dagger boards and dagger rudders, reducing her wetted surface area greatly, and the large square top mainsail with deck sweeping jib, make for one of the only truly performance catamarans under 40ft.

Seawind 1160 LITE
The new Seawind 1160 LITE on display is built to commercial survey to operate as a charter boat on Sydney Harbour operated by a Coxwain skipper with capacity for 28 passengers and 2 crew, or in the Whitsundays as a bareboat, while also being the ideal sized cruising catamaran for a couple to cruise and live aboard. The Seawind 1160 LITE will also be operating RYA accredited sail training courses on Sydney Harbour for those looking to expand.

Aquila 36
The new full windscreen version of the Aquila 36 will be displayed a new luxury interior and aft awning. This boat offers an exceptional ride that must be experienced to be believed and is quickly becoming the best selling power cat in the world. Syndicate shares are available with Smart Boating based in Middle Harbour.

Aquila 44
The Aquila 44 is the ideal balance between size, comfort, performance and sea going ability with long range tanks available for passage makers. The Aquila 44 is also a popular charter vessel with two new boats available to rent from Cumberland Charter Yachts in the Whitsundays and 1E compliance available for operations on Sydney harbour.
