General Manager of White Bay 6 Marine Park, Lorraine Yates joined the BIA NSW Council this month.
Lorraine is no stranger to boating. Apart from her role at White Bay 6 Marine Park, she is a commercial skipper and is the co-owner of the successfully campaigned Sparkman and Stephens classic racing yacht Komatsu Azzurro, a story becoming legendary in ocean racing circles.
Having grown up in Sydney, Lorraine studied at the University of NSW before moving to Canberra to master her skills as consultant project manager and senior policy advisor with both the Australian and NSW Governments in the health and education sectors. Eventually drawn back to Sydney, she founded and operated well known commercial fleet H2O Taxis for ten years. Lorraine is dedicated to promoting the benefits of recreational boating as well as industry training and maintaining strong links to Sydney’s working harbour.
The BIA welcomes Lorraine and looks forward to getting her support and insights to further help the industry.
