The Jason Ker designed McConaghy MC50 made its spectacular debut at the International Multihull Boat Show at La Grande Motte in April. The Multihull Boat Show prides itself in ‘showing multihulls afloat, in a dedicated place and in an exclusive manner’. The MC50 fits in perfectly, and right-away she was the talk of the town.
McConaghy has combined the interior styling and living space of a luxurious cruising cat with composite and structural expertise, and some serious performance acumen. The result is an exquisite finish and unparalleled living space on a yacht with uncompromised performance.
Inside there is a huge galley island bench, plenty of storage akin to a high-end apartment and amazing air circulation and light. Outside the MC50 boasts fantastic 360-degree vision from the helm and is every inch the sailor’s boat.
A very thorough review of the MC50 CAT from Toby at Yachting World who got up close and personal with the yacht at La Grande Motte can be viewed here.
John Cowpe comments “I’ve spoken to representatives from McConaghy and other brands who were present at La Grande Motte, and the feedback was that the MC50 stole the show. She was undoubtebdly the most innovative and exciting product on display, and created quite a few shockwaves. We are eagerly looking forward to her sea-trial reviews”.
For the first time, Multihull World magazine and Multicoque Mag joined forces with the Multihull Show to organise the prestigious Multihull of the Year election, and there were an impressive 10,000 votes cast.
Enthusiasts are already showing their appreciation for the new cat on the block, voting the McConaghy MC50 3rd in the Multihull of the Year Awards, 40 – 50ft category, announced at the Show.
A well-deserved accolade for a ground-breaking vessel – read more on the MC50 here.
